Category
Alum

Born in a southern province of Argentina, Luisina started her artistic path by obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, specializing in metal Sculpture.

She was drawn into the audiovisual field because of her interest in collective creations and her profound passion for teamwork. At first she worked in the art department as a stage manager in film and theater. For the past 10 years, she has filled several roles in independent films–both fiction and documentaries–including screenplay writer, producer, director, editor, and videographer.

Her poetry works Plaqueta and Punto Clap were published in 2010 in pocket editions.

In 2013 she completed a Master Degree in Theater Education & Production at the National University of Rio Negro.

Luisina has won several contests and received several grants and festival international recognitions for her scripts, including Heralda, a fictional short film; and both coauthored The little school, stories of terrorism in Bahía Blanca, a 4-episode documentary TV series about a clandestine torture and detention camp that functioned during Argentina’s last military dictatorship; and A shelter for the wind, a 60-minute documentary about the continuing legacy of Tango musicians in the south of Argentina.

In 2011, she founded her own production company Lupa Productora to collaboratively envision the genesis of a creative idea and successfully manage, from beginning to end, the production of inspiring works with few resources and small budgets.

Lupa Productora is focused on telling small but great stories that speak both domestically and universally and is now developing her first interactive documentary The little archive to be released by the end of 2016.

In 2015 she started working as a Filmmaker in Residence in the MIT Media Lab Macroconnections Group, leaded by Cesar Hidalgo. In 2017 they released In my shoes, a 8 episodes series that  follows Hidalgo’s personal and professional life between March and June of 2016.

She is currently working in her first interactive project The little archive and searching for funding for her first immersive long feature film Just somebody’s son.
