Join the Archival Producers Alliance (APA) their Initiative for the Responsible Use of Generative AI in Documentaries. Generative AI (GenAI) is rapidly transforming the media ecosystem and the world at large, reshaping our culture and conversations. While there is great potential in this technology, without intentional consideration into its potential risks, it can permanently muddy the historical record and shatter the trust that viewers have in Documentary.

With these existential concerns in mind, the Archival Producers Alliance –in conversation with hundreds of professionals in the industry– developed Best Practices guidelines for use of this revolutionary technology in documentary film. Join APA co-directors Rachel Antell, Stephanie Jenkins & Jennifer Petrucelli for a deep dive into the initiative, as well as a discussion of what the future may hold for archival storytelling in the era of Generative AI.
