The MIT OpenDocLab & IDFA DocLab presents Amaury La Burthe for an online public talk on April 23rd at 12PM.
XR and The Climate: What is Wrong and What Can Be Done
 

As part of their R&D program, IDFA DocLab and MIT Open Documentary Lab have followed the team behind CEPIR – a research initiative that examines and designs methods for a more sustainable immersive sector. In this talk, Amaury La Burthe, one of the project creators, presents research findings from their recently released report on the climate impact of XR. La Burthe will also discuss the report’s recommendations and tools developed for a more sustainable XR ecosystem including the first carbon calculator dedicated to XR studios.

With an introduction by Caspar Sonnen, Head of New Media at IDFA DocLab.

Bio: Amaury La Burthe is a director, creative technologist and founder of the immersive studio Novelab. He began his career at Sony and later joined Ubisoft to work on AAA franchises such as Prince of Persia and Far Cry. As a creator, Amaury has won several international awards including Tribeca Storyscapes, the George Foster Peabody, and the Europa. Amaury has now changed direction to join forces with Tiny Planets, working on the production of audiovisual content that promotes new imaginaries that are sober and resilient.
